The two day tool exhibition mounted by the Hand Tool Society at the Midland Railway Workshops this weekend and also celebrating their 40th anniversary, was without doubt a resounding success. Much credit to the club for the wonderful display in the Pattern Shop, which attracted a constant flow of visitors of all ages perusing the collections of members, all of which were extremely well presented. Numbers I heard were in excess of 800 on Saturday and Sunday, I thought it was possibly better.
In the Boiler Room the MPC members along with the CWA ladies put on refreshments, tea, coffee, cool drinks, plus a variety of cakes made brisk trade keeping the ladies busy. Much the same with the MPC Burger Crew, the sausage sizzle and hamburgers were in great demand, nothing like the smell of onions to attract customers. Sign of the times, it might be noted here that the MPC now have an Eftpos machine. This should be of great benefit as it seems some people don’t carry cash these days and it was used often enough over the weekend.
All in All a great weekend for exhibitors, volunteers and visitors alike, well done everybody .
Meanwhile other MPC members put on a display at the annual Kalamunda Show, adding to a strain on our manual resources .
MPC Open Day 11th May 2024 This will be a big event lots of support clubs will be there.
