The NHMA Rally is held every 2nd year.
The 2027 NHMA National Rally has been awarded to a joint consortium, Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association and Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery Association, to be held April 9, 10 and 11 April 2027 with the regular Hunter Valley Steamfest the following weekend 17 & 18 April 2027
Maitland has a proud history of celebrating and preserving our industrial and agricultural heritage in which the Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association (MSAMA) has played a vital role in showcasing this legacy through our largest event, Hunter Valley Steamfest, and many other annual events and activities annually. With the added expertise of the Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery Association this is sure to be a great event.
The National Historic Machinery Association, National Rally presents a unique opportunity to bring together steam enthusiasts, preservationists, collectors, and the broader public to experience the richness of Australia’s machinery history in one of the country’s most historically significant regional centres.
GARNHAM GROUNDS – Main Venue
Spread across approximately 17 acres and adjoining the New England Highway the Garnham Grounds are home to the MSAMA, and the annual Hunter Valley Steamfest – Steam Rally. Only a 2-minute walk to Maitland Train Station, 10 minutes to the heart of Maitland and less than 2km to Maitland Showground, the Garnham Ground are ideally placed to host large scale events, with a variety of restaurants, pubs, transport and other services all within short walking distance.
MAITLAND SHOWGROUND – Exhibitor Camping
Maitland Showground provides expansive, level space ideal for dedicated camping, with full access to amenities and proven infrastructure for large-scale events. Its close proximity to the Garnham Grounds offers seamless integration for rally activities, making it a prime location for hosting the camping andexhibitors for the National Antique Machinery Association’s National Rally
